What the inspector wrote

On May 20th, 2026 at approximately 2:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Wright met with licensee Haritha Badepalli for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the home by the licensee. Present during todays inspection were nine (9) children (1 infant / 8 preschool age) and the licensee fingerprint cleared assistant Shinderpal Kaur. LPA toured the home to conduct a health and safety inspection. Licensee is in ratio today. Hours of operation are 8:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday. The single story home consists of 4 bedrooms including master bedroom, 2 bathrooms including master bathroom, kitchen, living room, family room, driveway, and backyard. The home was neat and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of children in care. There are age appropriate toys that the LPA observed to be in good condition, free of visual damage or hazards. The isolation area is a corner section of the couch in the living room which is a away from other children in care. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no hazardous materials, including cleaning products, chemicals or toxins present during the inspection. LPA observed and licensee confirmed that there are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water present in the home children to access. Licensee confirmed and LPA observed that there are no firearms or weapons located in the home or on the premises. The fireplace is located inside the family room (daycare room) and is screened and barricaded to prevent access by children. On limits: Living Room, family room (daycare area), hallway bathroom and the backyard.. Off-limits: Kitchen, all bedrooms including the master bedroom and master bathroom and the driveway which will be inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. There is a child safety gate in place to prevent access to the off limits areas of the home. See LIC809C for continuance. All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to this Family Child care home (FCCH). LPA requested and reviewed the files of six (6) children in care. The children's files contained all required licensing forms including Parents rights, medical consent forms and identification and emergency contacts. Licensee has all required licensing forms needed when children are enrolling in care. The facility roster was review and copies were obtained. The licensee conducts fire and disaster drills twice a year and the last was conducted on 5/13/2026. CPR/First Aid certificate expires on 11/2028 and Mandated Reporter training was completed on 8/26/2025. Licensee assistant has completed CPR/First aid training and it expires on 3/2027. Assistant native language is Punjabi and the Mandated Reporter training is not available at the time of this report. Assistant Shinderpal has a waiver for mandated reporter training until it is available in their native language. All required forms are posted and visible for public review upon entry to the day care room. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization laws which pertains to all childcare providers. Licensee was reminded that training certificates must be renewed every 2 years. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee Badepalli is aware that they should have knowledge of all Title 22 Regulations and follow all Title 22 Regulations at all times, as well as follow manufacturer guidelines for all equipment in the facility. LPA reminded licensee that all Tile 22 regulations can be found on the CCLD Program website www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care/policy/laws-and-regulations . Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the licensee Badepalli confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. There were no deficiencies cited during todays inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Report was read and reviewed with licensee Haritha Badepalli.
