What the inspector wrote

On 09/11/2025 at 08:50 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ashley Hollinger and Dana Santiago arrived at the facility to conduct an UNANNOUNCED, Required Annual inspection at Kaamil Bey‘s Family Childcare Home. LPA met with Licensee's assistant, Camilla Bevilacqua and explained the purpose of today's inspection. LPA was granted the inspection authority to enter the Home. Licensee Kaamil Bey arrived shortly after LPAs' arrival during the inspection. The family childcare home days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 08:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Present in the home at the time of inspection were Licensee, Licensee's thre e (3) assistants, who are all fingerprint cleared) and nine (9) children in care consisting of five (5) toddlers and four (4) infants . The home is a four level house consisting of five (5) bedrooms, three and half (3 1/2) bathrooms, living room, dining area, kitchen, garage, deck (located on ground floor) and front courtyard. ON-LIMIT areas: The ground floor of the home consists of two bedrooms, 1/2 bathroom, full bathroom (located in one of of the main bedrooms), living/dining room, kitchen, the deck (located right off the the living room and bedroom), and fenced in front courtyard. The ground floor areas are mainly used for day care. Outdoor play area is in the fenced in front yard and the back patio area. OFF-LIMIT areas: The garage (top floor), the remaining three bedrooms and two bathrooms and the balcony (on the lower level floor), the office and the den (first floor). The off-limits areas are blocked off and made inaccessible to children in care. The Isolation area is the bedroom with the sliding door that leads to the front yard. SEE LIC809-C----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PAGE 2 Medicines, cleaning products, and sharp objects are stored inaccessible to children in care during today's inspection. The home maintains a working telephone. Licensee was reminded that smoking is not allowed in a family childcare home. Licensee states that there are no pets in the home. Licensee states there are no firearms or ammunition stored in the home. The stairs that lead downstairs are blocked off and is made inaccessible to children in care. There is a 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke detectors throughout the home and carbon monoxide detectors located in the living/dining area of the home . Children files and facility files were reviewed, and facility also contains a Children's Roster and Fire/Disaster Drill. The last documented fire and earthquake drill was conducted on 03/26/2025 . Licensee's Mandated Reporter training e xpires 10/2025 and CPR/Pediatric First Aid certifications expires 08/24/2026. LPA toured the deck and observed it was fenced. LPA observed there are no pools, hot tubs or other bodies of water. The home is sanitized and orderly in compliance with Title 22 Regulations during today's inspection, with heating and ventilation for the safety and comfort of children in care. Licensee was reminded that all adults (18 and over) living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children which includes employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed Licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. On this date, 09/11/2025, the California Attorney General - Megan’s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Licensee provided proof of control of property. No Deficiencies were observed during today's visit. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal rights provided and discussed. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with and given to Licensee, Kaamil Bey.
