What the inspector wrote

On 08/25/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittany Newton conducted an unannounced visit for the purpose of initiating a change of capacity for the above facility. LPA was met by Iris Deserio and John Deserio. Present for the inspection was 0 children. LPA toured the entire facility with the licensee. The home is a two story home. The on limit areas of the home is the entire downstairs except for the kitchen and the laundry room off the kitchen. The outdoor play area is also on limits. The entire upstairs is off limits. There is a bathroom available near the outdoor play area. Living room area is set up for day care. LPA observed ample age appropriate toys and furnishings available. Outdoor play area was inspected. There is a shaded area available for children. Play structures were observed safe for the use of children. Facility provides two snacks and children bring their own lunch. Drinking water is available. Facility has been conducting fire drills with the last one being 05/25/21. CPR and First Aid is current for the licensee, expiring 07/2022. Preventative health training for the licensee is complete. Facility has a child care roster and has been maintaining files. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. APPROVAL OF INCREASE: LPA has determined the facility has met all requirements to proceed with an increase in capacity. The facility may now operate in the capacity of a Large Family Child Care home, effective immediately. A new license will be mailed. Exit interview conducted, appeal rights provided and a copy of this report was left with Iris Deserio. Notice of site visit given and facility is reminded is must remain posted for 30 days.
