What the inspector wrote

On 01/15/2026 at 9:30am , Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Cherie Acosta and Jamel Maiwandi conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Child Development Services Manager Julie Giessler. Facility is requesting an increase to 9 infants in classroom #3 . Hours of operation are 8:00am to 3:00pm Present during today\342\200\231s inspection were 4 infants, 8 toddlers, 7 preschool aged children and 9 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. LPAs toured the facility. LPA used measurements from capacity worksheet completed on 8/7/2024. There have not been any changes to the infant indoor and outdoor activity space. Infant indoor and outdoor activity space are sufficient to accommodate the requested 9 infants. Fire clearance granted on 9/18/25 for increase to 9 infants. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available both indoor and outdoor. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. LPAs observed 1 sink and 1 changing table in the infant classroom. The outdoor play area is fenced with a chain link with privacy paneling and wooden fencing that is at least four feet high. LPAs used outdoor measurements from capacity worksheet completed on 8/7/2024. There have not been any changes to the outdoor activity space. Shade area is provided by a canopy and tree. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. Julie Giessler was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). Julie Giessler was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.\342\200\235 Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA also informed [applicant, licensee, or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.\342\200\235 Julie Giessler was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. No corrections are needed. A license for 9 infants will be granted upon a final file review. Capacity for the toddler option and preschool component will remain as licensed with 8 toddlers and 8 preschoolers. Notice of Site Visit was provided and must be posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Julie Giessler.
