What the inspector wrote

On February 28, 2024 at 8:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods arrived at the facility unannounced to conduct a Case Management Inspection to determine if the facility is ready for an INCREASE IN CAPACITY . LPA met with licensee Kailan Miner. Also residing in the home is the licensee’s husband Paul Perilla. Present for the inspection was the licensee's fingerprint cleared assistant, two (2) infants and two (2) preschool age children. The facility is a one story single family home. Hours of operation for child care are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The home was toured for Health and Safety Inspection. There are no changes to the home since the last inspection visit on 02/09/2023. ON Limit areas (accessible to children in care) : Living room, Playroom (1), Playroom (2), hallway bathroom, kitchen, and backyard. OFF Limit areas (not accessible to children in care): Master bedroom, laundry room and front yard. LPA reviewed the application prior to this visit and the home has an approved fire clearance from the Alameda County Fire Department on 02/21/2024. All off limit areas will be inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. The home has gate barriers in the living room, hallway area, and playrooms. Per licensee, there are firearms in the home and the LPA verified that the firearms and ammunition are stored in an off-limits area of the home. The outdoor play area will be the backyard, which has a fence surrounding the perimeter of the yard, and is free from defects or dangerous conditions. There's are gates at the bottom stairs to prevent children five years or younger access to the upper level of home. There are ample age appropriate toys, which are observed to be safe, clean and in good repair. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water present in the on limit areas. There are no deficiencies cited today. Exit interview was conducted with the licensee Kailan Miner. Based on the approval of the fire clearance, issuance of license is recommended for this home effective today 02/28/2024. Notice of Site visit was posted at the time of inspection and must remain posted for 30 days.
