What the inspector wrote

On September 22, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Simerjit Kaur arrived at the facility for UNANNOUNCED ANNUAL RANDOM 1 YEAR INSPECTION. Present for this inspection was 2 staff members and no preschool age children . During the inspection, 27 preschool children and 8 staff members arrived. LPA toured facility with Owner/Director Eunhee Im to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. The center operates Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm. There are 3 rooms designated for preschool age children (Rooms: Pre-K, Preschool, and Gym). Classrooms have appropriate furniture and equipment for the use of children in care. There is adequate lighting, ventilation and heating in facility. The Center is equipped with fully charged fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide, fire alarm system (Bay Alarm Company), refrigerator and telephones. There are adequate storage hooks and cubbies for children's belongings. All toilets, sinks and cleaning areas are in safe and sanitary operating condition during today's inspection. All storage containers for solid waste had a tight-fitting lid. All surfaces accessible to children are clean and toxic free. Cots are available for use of children. The bedding is washed weekly by parents. T he facility requires children to bring lunch, snacks and water bottles. The facility provides water as needed. Facility provides AM snacks. The menu is posted. The center has conducted and documented a fire/disaster drill on 09/14/23. The facility appears to be safe and sanitary. It was observed that there are no toxins or hazardous items accessible to children in care during today's inspection. The outdoor play structure has adequate and appropriate cushioning material to absorb falls. There is drinking water available in the classrooms and outdoor. The center roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. The opener and closer staff have current First Aid and CPR and immunization. LPA reviewed children files and staff files. The required Community Care Licensing forms are posted and visible for review. See 809-C for continuance Facility director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA referred facility representative to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing information. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP.
