Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On August 28, 2025 at 10:20 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted a visit to the facility for the purpose of a Case Management Inspection and met with center director Jamila Mohamed. The purpose of the visit was to reactivate the license because it was previously on inactive status. The facility will operate from 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM, Monday -Friday. LPA tested the center’s smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and confirmed they are functioning properly. The smoke detector system is wired to notify the fire department when triggered. Per the Director, the smoke detector is fully functional and serviced regularly. The center is also equipped with a working telephone, a pull-down fire alarm system, and multiple fully charged fire extinguishers (types 3A40BC and 2A10BC). These safety measures meet the standards established by the State Fire Marshal. At approximately 10:45 AM, the two (2) classrooms were inspected and teacher-to-child ratios were observed to be in compliance. Adequate play and learning materials are available. The floors are well maintained, and furniture is appropriately sized for infant children. Classroom equipment was observed to be in good repair, and the room temperature was suitable for children in care. Each child has proper individual storage space, with cubbies labeled with their pictures. The designated isolation area for sick children is the Director’s office, located away from other children in care. As of August 28, 2025, the center is placed back on active status. No deficiencies were cited during today’s visit. A Notice of Site Visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days. An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with the center director, Jamila Mohamed .
