What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with director Shelly Sachdeva for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the staff. The licensee, Amit Sachdeva, and director Shelly Sachdeva arrived during the inspection. In addition to the director Shelly Sachdeva and licensee Amit Sachdeva, 16 children and two staff are present today. The facility also provides a tutoring program, JEI Learning, with operational hours from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The licensee was advised that children from the preschool and JEI programs should not commingle at any time. The facility operates preschool license, Monday - Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. The facility was inspected indoors and outdoors today for health and safety hazards, and the following was observed. No bodies of water, firearms, or weapons are on the premises. The Center is in good condition, has proper temperature and ventilation, and is free of any hazards. All furniture is in good repair. The Center has age-appropriate toys and equipment. The facility operates under an outdoor waiver and is reminded to follow the waiver's terms and conditions. The facility requires children to bring their lunches daily however provides am/pm snacks. The children bring their water bottles. The Center also conducts and documents fire and earthquake drills once every six months, and the logs show that drills were conducted on 03/04/2024. The bathrooms appear to be safe, sanitary, and free of any hazardous items. LPA reviewed the sign-in and out sheet. The facility uses 1Core app to sign in and out the children. There is a working fire alarm system in the facility. The Facility has a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone available. All the Children's records reviewed were complete. All children have a record of emergency identification information on file. All staff has a criminal record clearance on file. The site Director has a current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate on file. The director understands that there shall always be at least one person with valid CPR and First Aid certifications on-site or present during off-site activities (field trips). The facility roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. See next page. Criminal Record Clearance - Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Lead Testing \342\200\223 CCC COMPLETED TESTING AND NO LEAD EXCEEDANCES: Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . Incidental Medical Services (IMS) This facility do not provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP .
