What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Director Anagha Chitre for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Director. Currently there are no children in care, and director confirmed that no preschool aged children have been enrolled since the facility obtained its preschool license. The facility operates as drop-in program -8:00 am-to 12:00 pm and facility also operates after-school programs under the heritage license from (12:30pm- to 6:00 pm). The Director stated that heritage school students are never commingled with students enrolled in the preschool program. The facility was inspected indoors and outdoors for health and safety hazards, and the following was observed: The facility has a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water. Per director, there are no firearms on the premises. The facility has a waiver for no outdoor space present and is visible for review. The program requires children to bring their own snacks and only provide snacks during emergencies. The classroom has appropriate postings. The facility utilizes the Bright Wheel app to sign in and out the children. The Director, who also acts as opening and closing teacher, has a current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate on file. See the next page. During inspection, Criminal Record Clearance - Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Lead Testing \342\200\223 CCC COMPLETED TESTING Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5- years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the the facility has completed the lead testing in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP .
