What the inspector wrote

An ANNOUNCED PRE-LICENSING INSPECTION was conducted on this date 6/20/2023 by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji. LPA met with Applicant, Marvel Philip, Director of Operations, Bertha Taitague and Director, Lisa Locus. An application was submitted for a NEW PRESCHOOL component, also on site is a NEW INFANT COMPONENT (#015700612) operating out of 3 classrooms. Operating Monday through Friday from 7AM - 6PM . A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. Measurements were taken and are as follows: INDOORS: 4954.03 square feet = 142 children OUTDOORS: 14645.74 square feet = 195 children There are a total of 12 sinks and 12 toilets available for children use. Drinking water is available inside and outside by way of water dispensers and bottles brought from home. Facility provides catered lunch and AM/PM snacks. Menus are posted. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector and fire extinguisher accessible throughout the facility. An approved Fire Clearance was received on 6/2/2023 from Livermore/Pleasanton FIre Department. This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services - IMS. Building overhang and trees provide sufficient shade in the play yard. Director is aware that at no times should Infants and Preschool aged children commingle inside or outside. No cleaning agents were found stored with food. There is a refrigerator available. First aid supplies are available in the center. There is a working telephone on site. Facility will utilize an electronic sign/in out program where each authorized representative has a unique identifier. Facility will utilize a paper sign in/out sheet that records the date, time and full legal signature of authorized representative should the electronic software not be available. Lisa Locus is a fully qualified preschool director and has completed her 16 hours of Pediatric CPR/First Aid and Preventative Health Training. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchases. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. A license for 142 preschool aged children operating out of 6 classrooms (Early PS (C101), (C106), Preschool (C109), (C111), PreK (C113) and TK (C115)) will be issued effective today, 06/20/2023.
