What the inspector wrote

A Prelicensing inspection was conducted today 9/27/2023 by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji. LPA met with Applicant, Elham Shaheidari. The applicant has submitted a NEW application for a PRESCHOOL license for 15 preschoolers ages 3 to first grade entry. The program will operate from 7:30AM - 5:30PM , Monday through Friday, in 1 classroom. Also on site is a private elementary school. Applicant and Director understand that at no time should the preschool and elementary school children commingle. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside and the measurements are as follows: INDOORS: 844.19 square feet = 24 children OUTDOORS: 17648.10 square feet = 235 children The center has obtained an approved fire inspection clearance from the Dublin Fire Prevention Department on 9/15/2023 for 15 preschoolers aged 36 months and older. The preschool room is equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. There is a total of 1 sink, and 1 toilet available for children use. Staff have a separate bathroom. Facility will provide AM/PM snacks with children bringing lunch from home. Menu will be posted at least one week in advance in a place visible for the authorized representative to see. Facility has a playground which is fenced in all around and has age appropriate materials. Tarp and trees provide shade for children while on the yard. Facility will also utilize a portion of the grassy area. Facility will utilize the office and staff bathroom as necessary for an ill child. Mats were observed today. Elham Shaheidari is a fully qualified director and a complete director packet has been submitted. Facility will utilize paper sign in/out sheets which allow enough room to record the date, time and full legal signature of the authorized representative. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP . When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPA also informed the Applicant of the importance of checking for devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the applicant, Elham Shaheidari. A license for 15 preschool children ages 36 months - first grade entry, will be issued effective today 9/27/2023.
