What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with the Teacher in charge, Akram Tatadodi, for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. Present during the inspection, two (2) staff members supervising nine (9) children. The facility operates Monday \342\200\223 Thursday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, and Fridays 9:00am to 12:30pm, in room #11. The facility also operates a private elementary school on the site in room #12. The facility understands that elementary children cannot be commingled with preschoolers. The facility was inspected indoors and outdoors today for health and safety hazards, and the following was observed. The Center is in good condition with proper temperature and ventilation, and is free of any hazards. The room has a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone available. All furniture is in good repair. The Center has age-appropriate toys and equipment. The outdoor play area is fenced for supervision. The play structure is age-appropriate and in good condition. The program provides daily snacks, and the facility requires families to provide lunch. LPA reviewed the food storage and observed that it was in its original packaging. The classroom has appropriate postings. The last Emergency Drill was conducted on 06/13/2024 and is appropriately logged. The facility utilizes paper sign-in and out sheets. During today's inspection, LPA observed three children were not signed in by the authorized person. ( see LIC9102 technical violation). The facility roster was reviewed, and the facility was reminded that the roster shall include the name, address, and daytime telephone number of the child's parent or guardian and the name and telephone number of the child's physician. This roster shall be available to the licensing agency upon request (see LIC9102). Per Teacher in charge, there are no firearms stored in the facility. During today's inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water. A review of five children's files and two staff files was completed. All children have a record of emergency identification information and immunization records on file. All staff has a criminal record clearance on file. The opening and closing staff have a current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate on file. All the teachers have completed the Mandated Reporter training. see next page... During inspection, Criminal Record Clearance - Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Lead Testing \342\200\223 CCC COMPLETED TESTING Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. The facility was closed for the summer break from June 13, 2024, to September 2, 2024. During this period, the outlet has been replaced. The vendor has requested a three-week flushing period before scheduling the retesting. The facility was advised to share the results with the department once the retesting will be done.
