Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Jyoti Saini and Kassandra Medrano conducted a Case Management Inspection to review the facility’s request to increase capacity to their capacity to 38 children (20 preschool children and 18 toddlers.) The facility has also requested to add Classroom H, which was formerly used as an office. LPAs met with Director Carol Abe and the purpose of the inspection was explained. Present during the visit are the Director and three staff members supervising 11 children (7 preschoolers and 4 toddlers). LPAs observed that classroom H had not yet been fully prepared for child-care use. One corner of the room contained office equipment and other non-classroom items. The Director stated that these items would be removed. Because the room was not cleared or arranged appropriately, LPAs were unable to obtain accurate measurements. A follow-up visit will be required for the Department to obtain accurate measurements and verify the final classroom setup before making a determination on the capacity increase request. LPA's also requested that signs be placed on the doors of the bathrooms adjacent to classroom H to show exclusive use for children. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the director, Carol Abe.
