What the inspector wrote

On December 12, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Simerjit Kaur met with site Director Brandi Jackson for an UNANNOUNCED ANNUAL RANDOM INSPECTION. The center is located on the Leo Croce Elementary School campus. The Director is aware children in care may not commingle at any time. Present for this inspection was 5 staff members and 7 preschool age children. The facility was toured by LPA and Director Brandi Jackson to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. The center operates Monday - Friday from 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. The classroom # 5 is designated for preschool age children with restroom, and office located in the classroom. The facility appears to be safe, and sanitary. There is adequate heating and lighting in the classrooms. There is no standing water on the floor observed during today's inspection. The toilet, hand washing and cleaning areas are in safe and sanitary operating condition during today's inspection. The staff restroom is located in the hallway. Classroom have appropriate furniture and equipment for the use of children in care. There are adequate storage hooks for children's belongings. Cots are available for use of children. The bedding sheets washed by the facility. Breakfast, lunch and AM/PM snacks are provided by center (arrive from Stanford Hospital). There is a menu posted in the classroom. There is drinking water available in the classrooms and outdoor. Outdoor activity space and playground equipment observed to be safe and free of hazards. The climbing equipment of the play structure has adequate and appropriate cushioning material to absorb falls. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure. The center has conducted and documented a disaster drill on 11/12/2025. LPA observed working carbon monoxide detector and a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher. Smoke detectors and fire alarms inspections are conducted by school district. The center roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. See 809-C for continuance LPA reviewed children's files and staff files. The staff have CPR/First Aid and immunization. Activity schedules and required Community Care Licensing forms are posted and visible for review. Facility director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1597.16. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP.). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives (Interim Licensing Standards) outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP.
