What the inspector wrote

On March 19, 2025 at 1:00PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lorraine Dacanay Breaux met with the licensee Deepthi Koduru for an Announced Increase of Capacity Inspection. Present during the inspection were four (4) preschool age children.The licensee's home was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The two story home consist of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, family room, kitchen, two car garage, and backyard. The home also has a 3A40BC fire extinguisher mounted on the wall in living room, a working telephone, and a first aid kit. Licensee rents the property, LIC 9151 and LIC 9149 was reviewed and copy in file. All documents have been received and reviewed for the increase of capacity. ON LIMIT AREAS : Living room, family room, kitchen and half bathroom and rear yard. OFF LIMIT AREAS : Entire second floor and the two car garage. ISOLATION AREA: Section in the living room away from the children in care, until parents arrive. This home has fireplace in the family room (child care room) that has a barricade/screen to prevent access by children. All toxin, hazardous materials and cleaning products were observed to be in inaccessible areas. Outdoor Play Area: Rear yard is used for out door play and is the fully fenced. LPA observed that it is free from defects or dangerous conditions. There are no swimming pools and/or bodies of water, licensee confirmed there are no pools/bodies of water. This home was granted a fire clearance on 03/12/2025 from the Livermore - Pleasanton Fire Department. Licensee was reminded to abide by the conditions of the fire clearance which restricts the use of the entire second floor and the garage to children in care. The licensee was reminded that an assistant must be present at all times when there is more than 8 children in attendance . Whenever the assistant is not present, the licensee will comply with the capacity requirements for a small family child care home. See 809C Licensee's Pediatric CPR & first aid training is complete and expires 02/9/2027. The licensee's Mandated Reporter training is also complete on 12/18/2024. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year with the last one conducted on 12/16/2024. All required forms are posted and visible for public view. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A license for a large family childcare has been granted today, 03/19/2025. A notice of site visit was given to licensee and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal Rights provided.
