What the inspector wrote

On 7/28/2025 at 2:30PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jaleesa Jackson arrived for an Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and met with Licensee Deborah Hernandez. LPA informed Licensee of the nature of the visit and was granted entry into the home. Present for this inspection was the Licensee, 1 infant, 1 preschool aged child, and 1 school aged child. Also present were her fingerprint cleared husband, her adult daughter, and her minor granddaughter. The home was toured with the licensee to conduct a health and safety inspection. Hours of operation for day care are Monday - Friday, 6:00AM to 7:00PM. ON LIMITS: Living Room, Dining Room, Bedroom #1 (First door right side of hallway), Hallway Bathroom, and fenced off area of the Backyard OFF LIMITS: Kitchen, Sides of Backyard, Master Bedroom/Bathroom, Bedroom #2, Bedroom #3, Laundry Room and Garage The home is a single story with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There were age appropriate toys that were observed to be safe and in good condition. LPA observed cleaning supplies the under the sink in the on limits bathroom. LPA informed Licensee that these items need to be either removed or locked to make the inaccessible to children. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, working smoke and carbon monoxide detector and telephone in the home. Licensee stated that there are no firearms or pets or no one who smokes at the home. LPA did not observe any bodies of water in or around the home. Continued on 809-C LPA reviewed 2 children's files. Licensee's CPR and First Aid are expired. All required documents are posted. There were 2 deficiency cited on today's inspection. See 809-D for deficiency. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Continued on 809-C Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE Deborah Hernandez, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Deborah Hernandez.
