What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee Wei Wei Fang for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. The Licensee speaks only Chinese, and helper/niece, Feng Fei Ning arrived during the inspection to assist with translation. At the time of the inspection, no children were present. Per helper, there are only two children enrolled, and they attend twice a week or as needed. LPA verified children enrolled with the roster during the inspection. The single-story home includes a living room, dining area, kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a backyard, and a garage. The Licensee operates the day-care Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On-limit areas include the living room, dining area, Bedroom #1 (located on the right side of the hallway), and Bathroom #1. The backyard is divided into two sections by a fence; one section, which includes the shed, is designated as off-limits to children. Off-limit areas include the master bedroom, the adjacent bathroom, Bedroom #2, and the garage. LPA inspected the home for health and safety hazards. The daycare areas are equipped with appropriate toys both indoors and outdoors. The home has a working telephone, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and a fire extinguisher that meets minimum requirements. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water or a fireplace. Child sized tables and chairs are available for snacks and activities. The Licensee confirmed that there are no guns or weapons in the home. There are no pets on the premises. The Licensee has current CPR and First Aid certifications on file, which expire on 07/21/2026. The Licensee also has current Mandated Reporter training certificates on file, which expire on 09/15/2027.The Licensee provides daily snacks and meal. Per disaster drill log, the last fire drill was conducted on 09/2025. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s and staff files, and all required documentation was complete. All required postings are posted. During Inspection, Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was reminded about Mandated Reporter training available on CCLD website. Training must be completed every 2 years.
