What the inspector wrote

On June 19, 2025, at 9:00 AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an Announced Pre-licensing Inspection for the purpose of a Change in Location and met with licensee, Kailan Miner . LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and the facility was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection. There were no children present during this inspection. The facility plans to operate between the hours of 8:00 AM-6:00 PM, Monday -Friday On-limit-areas are the: Living and dining room, playroom to the right of the entrance, kitchen, backyard, left side-yard, bedroom (3) the first bedroom to the left of hallway. The Isolation area will be bedroom (3) the first bedroom to the left of hallway., away from other children in care. Off-limit-areas are : Bedroom (one) right side of hallway, Master bedroom (2) at the end of hallway, right side of the backyard, shed, and garage The off-limits are will be made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. This single story home consist of three bedrooms, two baths, living and dining room, playroom, kitchen backyard, and attached two car garage, which is neat and clean with (centralized) heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The Outdoor Play area is the fully fenced and LPA observed that it is free from defects or dangerous conditions. There are ample age appropriate toys that appear to be safe and in good condition. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water present in the on-limit areas during today's inspection. See 809-. The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector, and telephone. There's a fireplace in the dining room that is screened to prevent access by children. Per licensee, there are firearms store in the home in a locked firearm cabinet in an off-limits area inaccessible to children in care. A copy of the rental agreement was reviewed and shows control of property by the licensee on 12/24/24 . The licensee has completed and received a certificate in mandated reporter training on 04/02/2025 . Licensee's CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires 04/2027 . The licensee in compliance with the immunization laws which pertains to all childcare providers. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. To receive important licensed related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. Roster of the children must be properly maintained and fire/disaster drill every six months must be documented. The licensee is reminded any structural changes to the home or additions to the child care facility must be reported to Community Care Licensing. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. See 809-C. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. On this date, 6/19/2025 the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. This home is recommended for Licensure on 06/19/25. This report shall remain on file for 3 years. Exit interview conducted licensee, Kailan Miner.
