Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

9 children were interviewed this date, ranging from 4 to 9 years old. 8 stated that teachers only raise their voices when the kids are loud indoors and need to be heard, children are never left alone, and they have never witnessed any children hit by teachers or teachers using inappropriate language. One child stated they have witnessed the teachers yell sometimes when "stressed out", calling kids "annoying", hitting a child (C10) with a cracker box a couple of weeks ago and leaving children alone while out front talking to parents. On 11/08/24, Director Kaitlin Vondran was reinterviewed regarding her discussion with staff about specific allegations. She reported that a few weeks ago C10 had put a cracker box on their head as a joke and thought it was funny. 4 parents were interviewed this date, and none had any concerns or issues with safety, supervision, appropriateness, or tone of staff interactions with their children. All indicated that they were pleased with the care provided. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violations occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Kaitlin Vondran. Appeal rights were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
