Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On January 17, 2023, LPA attempted to interview 9 client/parents (P1-P8), 6 were successful. P1, P4-P8 had no concerns on children not be adequately dressed for outside play. All stated they were not concerned if staff are helping children wipe their noses. P5-P6, and P8 stated that they have personally witnessed staff helping children with their noses and that they feel they are doing their best to keep up with the noses. On January 4, 2023, LPA interviewed 2 preschool teachers in regard to the allegations. Both stated that the children start off with their jackets, socks and shoes before going outside. Both stated there are some children that will continuously remove these items and are encouraged to keep them on. As for running noses, both stated there are plenty of tissues both inside and out and they assist when needed. On January 4, 2023, LPA interviewed 3 preschool children (C1-C3) C1 and C2 said they wear their jackets and shoes when playing outside and C3 said he does not wear his jacket when it is hot. During the visit the facility was toured, copies of child roster and staff records were received and reviewed. LPA observed classrooms and playground and did not observe children not dressed appropriately for cold weather. LPA observed several boxes of tissues. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Ashely Karr. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
