What the inspector wrote

A case management inspection was conducted today at 9:20am by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Laura Chavez in response to a request for a change of classroom. The facility is located at the Pine Ridge Elementary School. The facility is moving back to their original location in Classroom #1 from Classroom #29. LPA met with facility representative Colleen Dugan. The requested capacity is 22. The facility operates August - June, Monday - Friday; morning program operates 8:00am - 11:00am, the afternoon program operates 12:00pm - 3:00pm. The indoor and outdoor activity space was toured. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided through the school district and prepared off-site. The isolation area for sick children will be located in the book-nook. There is a smoke detector and fully charged fire extinguisher. Cubbies are available for children to use. All Exits are marked. The required postings (Parents Personal Rights, Emergency Disaster Plan, Earthquake Preparedness Checklist, Menu, etc.) are posted in a visible area in the classroom. A waiver request was submitted for children to temporarily use the West side outdoor field until construction of their permanent outdoor play area is complete. The facility representative agrees that children shall be escorted to and from the temporary outdoor play area. The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There are no play structures on the field. Grass provides cushioning underneath. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises. A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. There is enough indoor space for 24 children and outdoor space for more than the requested capacity of 22 children. There is one toilet and two sinks available in the classroom for children. A waiver request was submitted for children to share the bathroom with TK and kindergarten children Based on the above, the maximum capacity of the facility could be 24. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with facility representative Colleen Dugan. The following items need to be completed prior to the granting the license: 1.
