What the inspector wrote

Based on the observation made, the following deficiencies are being cited: Fencing on playground is not regulation height. (See LIC 809D). LPA E. Laird informed facility representative, that this report dated 12/21/23 documents 1 Type A citation which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is an immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. Also, LPA E. Laird informed the facility representative to provide a copy of this licensing report dated 12/21/23 that documents any Type A citation(s) to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. An exit interview was conducted with representative, Heather Mendonca-Aguiar and appeal rights were provided. Notice of Site visit shall remain posted for 30 days.

    101238.Outdoor Activity Space (g) The playground shall be enclosed by a fence to protect children and to keep them in the outdoor activity area. The fence shall be at least four feet high. This regulation was not met as evidence by: The West facing fence measured between 3.5 feet and 3.7 feet tall. LPA Laird observed an approximate 8 foot drop on the other side of the fence, which poses an immediate risk to children in care.
