Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 10/10/2023 at 9:30 am, an inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J.Snow who met with Director, Linda Wright & owners Steve & Sherrie Allard for an increase of capacity visit. The fire clearance was approved on 8/31/23. This program operates Monday – Friday from 7:00- 5:30pm. The facility was toured at 9:45pm inside and outside to measure for capacity increase to 60 (42 preschoolers and no change to the 18 toddlers). The LPA verified there is enough indoor space for the preschool children in the front half of the building. The back half of the building contains 2 toddler classrooms (no changes requested) and an indoor play yard that the licensee is requesting to use as shared play space between the toddler and preschool (this room was not used in the indoor capacity measurements). The play equipment in the indoor and outdoor play yards has 3 structures ; one they removed the stairs and slide from the larger structure, the two other climbing structures show an age rating from 2-6 years. There are enough sinks and toilets for the requested capacity. The toddlers have 1 toilet, 2 sinks and potty chairs. The preschoolers have 3 toilets & 3 sinks. see page 2 The licensee currently has a shared yard waiver for the outside yard because it does not measure for the full capacity of the facility and there is no separate toddler play yard. The waiver will be readdressed to include the larger capacity and indoor yard area. The facility provided some documents during the inspection (map, LIC 200A) There were no deficiencies cited during today’s inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Linda Wright and owners; Mr. & Mrs. Allard. The request for an increase still needs the following prior to approval: Managerial Approval Shared Yard waiver approval.
