What the inspector wrote

On 9/14/21, at 9:30 am , an annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Wisehart who met with the Director. The facility file was reviewed prior to this inspection. A review of the personnel report on 9/14/21 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The facility is compromised of two separate buildings, labeled Suite 1 and 2. The two buildings were toured, inspected the first at 9:35 am and the second at 10:20 am The facility’s operating hours are 7 am - 6 pm, Mon-Fri. The facility and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. There are no pools or similar bodies of water. The Director stated no firearms or weapons are stored on site and none were observed. The items which could pose a danger to children (such as disinfectants, cleaning solutions and medications) are inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in the Suite 2 laundry room and Directors office and one inaccessible spray was locked during tour. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of hazards, and age appropriate. The outdoor activity space was cushioned with wood chips and free of hazards. Toilets and sinks are in sanitary condition and operating properly. The staff restroom and isolation restroom is in Suite 2. The facility floors were clean and safe. The kitchen/food preparation area is clean, and free of litter or rodents. Food is properly stored and free of contamination. The facility provides breakfast/lunch and afternoon snacks. Trash cans have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is available to children both inside and outside via water bottles and water jug. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The facility has a working carbon monoxide detector. During today's inspection, 2 staff records were reviewed at 10:30 am. Staffing ratios were being met and there were 7 preschool children being supervised by 2 teachers/aides. Children are not left without visual supervision at any time. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity. At least one staff member present during the visit (S1) possessed current CPR and First Aid certifications (expires 2/6/23). The sign in/out is electronically done and was reviewed by LPA. Staff are provided on-the-job training, including sanitation and universal health precautions. Staff (S1)has health screenings and immunization's on file but S2 is in the process of providing them to the facility. Staff 2 has the required Mandated Reporter training and S1 is currently enrolled in the renewal process.. Children with symptoms of illness are not accepted, and children who become ill during the day are isolated in Suite #2. A weekly menu was posted on parent board. 4 children’s records were reviewed at 10:45 a, and contained emergency identification forms and medical assessments. All licensing reports are public information and must be made available upon request for at least three years. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit. There were no Title 22 deficiencies cited during today's inspection though advisories were given.
