Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 3/3/22 at 9:55am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Emilia Grisak conducted an unannounced case management visit and met with Center Director Connie Hayes. This visit was to follow-up on a self-reported incident the facility made to CCL on 12/17/21. It was reported that on 12/16/21 child C1 reported that staff S1 spanked child. It was reported that S1 was immediately removed from the classroom and placed on leave while an investigation was conducted by HR. Director stated that the HR investigation was finalized and it was unfounded. It was stated that S1 was never alone with C1 on 12/16/21 and there was also no indication that anything took place that day, the child never cried and never showed signs of being upset. It was stated that interviews were conducted with staff and all interviews indicated that nothing took place and that S1 was not near C1 when alleged incident took place. It was stated that the program plan is that teachers are never alone and there is always more than one teacher present in the classrooms. S1 has since returned to work and the child was placed in a different teacher's classroom at the parent's request. LPA toured the facility at 10:10am and observed children being appropriately supervised by staff. There were no citations issued on today's date. Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days from today's date.
