What the inspector wrote

On 5/26/2023 at 1:45pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) J. Snow made a case management inspection and met with Director, Francine Mendenhall. The inspection was made in response to water lead testing results received from the California State Water Resource Control Board. The test results showed that the following faucets tested above the allowable level (5 ppb) of lead in the water: Faucet \342\200\234A\342\200\235 \342\200\223 located in the kitchen 56ppb where food is prepared The licensee made the faucet inaccessible by taping it off & using \342\200\230out of service\342\200\231 signage until a retest had been done. The facility will send proof that it was retested within the required limits. Children in care are receiving drinking water from water bottle dispensers. The following deficiency is being cited (see LIC 809D). A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the director, Francine Mendenhall.

This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above to have the drinking water tested by 1/1/2023, which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
