Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

An unannounced case management inspection was conducted today at 1:55 PM by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Tammy Dutra. LPA met with facility representative Christina Wieck. It has been alleged that there was a lack of supervision at the facility. W1 shared that a staff member was allegedly sleeping in the infant room during daycare hours. LPA interviewed director Christina Wieck who stated that children are never unsupervised while in care. There are times when staff are down on children's level interacting or playing with children in care, but they never close their eyes while in the classroom. All staff have been trained in active supervision and understand the expectations to be in compliance with 100% supervision at all times. LPA interviewed S1-S4 who all stated that they have never seen a co-worker asleep in the infant room. All staff indicated that they are on the ground in active play with children in care but would never close their eyes or nap in the room. Staff stated that if they needed rest on their break they would use the office/ break room to close their eyes. During today’s inspection, the facility was toured and LPA observed 5 children in care. Based on information gathered further investigation is needed. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Christina Wieck appeal rights were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
