Facility-requested visit·June 15, 2021

On 6/15/21 at 9:00am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Domantay and Melissa Guirit conducted a case management pre-licensing unannounced inspection for this center. LPAs met with the director, Tracie Nelson. 9 staff and 32 children were present on the facility today. The center submitted an application for change of capacity from 41 preschoolers to 48 preschoolers. The center is operating on the site of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, and the hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 9:00am-2:00pm . A tour of the facility was completed to conduct a health and safety inspection. Per director there has been no changes to the outdoor play area and indoor spaces since the last case management inspection 9/2/2020. The the total measurements are as follows: INDOORS: 2395.21 square feet= 68 children OUTDOORS: 5436.29 square feet= 72 children A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 48, was received from the Moraga-Orinda Fire Department. LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment and furniture. The facility has a total of 7 sinks and 6 toilets for children to use. The facility has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers, working combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. All requirements have been met and the center is approved for a capacity of 48 preschoolers effective today 6/15/21. This report will remain on file for 3 years. There are no deficiencies being cited. A copy of this report, appeal rights, and notice of site visit were provided to the Director.
