On November 28, 2022 Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Mayla Mendoza and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza met with Director Carolyn Nakao and Administrator Nat Weber for an informal meeting at the Oakland Child Care Regional Office via Zoom. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss lack of supervision, where a child was left unsupervised by a qualified preschool staff. The incident was reported to Community Care Licensing (CCL) on September 21, 2022. The Director held an all staff meeting regarding Supervision on October 17, 2022. The meeting consisted watching the "Supervising Children in Child Care Centers" video, thoroughly discussing the components, and filling out worksheets. The Director also had the staff identify weak spots in their operation and coming up with suggestions on strengthening the weak areas. Director Nakao provided proof of completing Lack of Supervising training with staff on November 2, 2022. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Nakao.
