What the inspector wrote

On 01/22/2025 at 9AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kareeca Sykes met with Licensees Maria and Lianne Fulqui for an Unannounced Required Inspection . Present during the inspection were two (2) infants and four (4) preschoolers in care. Residing in the home are both Licensees' , Licesnee (Lianne) spouse who is fingerprint cleared and Licensee (Lianne) four minor children. Licensee\342\200\231s home was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates 6:30am \342\200\223 5:30pm, Monday - Friday. The home is a one story home that consists of four (4) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, garage, and backyard. The entrance to the day care is the front door. The inside and outside of the home were observed to be neat, clean with age-appropriate materials and toys for the children. Toxins, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas during todays inspection. LPA observed the following precautions accessible cabinets and drawers in the kitchen have safety latches and the fire place is blocked off and made inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home and five pets (small dogs) in the home. LPA did not observe a body of water in or around home. ON LIMITS AREA: The living room, which is the main area of the day care, the bathroom, the kitchen area, and the fenced backyard. OFF LIMITS AREA: Bedroom 1 (Master Bedroom) , Bedroom 2, Bedroom 3, Bedroom 4, the master bathroom, and the garage ISOLATION AREA: The kitchen area away from children in care Continued on Page 2 Page 2 The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, a working duel smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the hallway and a working telephone, and all required forms are posted. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year with the last one conducted on 09/06/24. Both licensee's CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on 8/2025 (Lianne) and 5/2025 (Maria) . The Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter and has provided proof of the required training for all people caring for children which was conducted on 8/20/24 (Maria) and 01/2023 (Lianne) . LPA reviewed five children\342\200\231s files at 10:28AM and obtained a current facility roster. The licensee is incompliance with the immunization law. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Continued on Page 3 Page 3 Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Lianne, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
