What the inspector wrote

On 8/23/22 , Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay conducted a case management inspection at the facility. LPAs met with Director, Deborah Sprague. There were no children present. An application was received with a request for a room change to rooms 1 and 2 on the right side of the school. The facility will operate Monday-Friday 7am-6pm on the grounds of the Las Juntas Elementary School. A tour of rooms 1 and 2 were conducted with Director. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items, defects or dangerous conditions. The entrance area of the room has a fully charged fire extinguisher and centralized combination carbon monoxide/smoke detection system. An updated superintendent's certification, indicating that rooms 1 and 2 can be used by the child care was received. Designated fenced outdoor play area will be utilized. A fire clearance, dated 8/10/22, was received from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection Department. Rooms 1 and 2 will be added to the school age license effective 8/23/22. There are no deficiencies being cited. Exit interview conducted with Director, Deborah Sprague and appeal rights provided.
