What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Caroline Colson, arrived at the facility at 10:28 AM on May 17, 2023, and met with Desiree Garland, Center Director, to conduct an annual required inspection. This facility a Title V facility. A guided tour was provided by the center. Hours of Operation are Mondays - Fridays from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. LPA made the following observations: Capacity/Staffing : The facility is a preschool with a toddler option. The preschool program is located in Room 1 and toddler option is located in Room 4. There are 21 children present with 7 staff members including the Center Director. Physical Plant : There are bathrooms for both classrooms. There is adequate heating, lighting and ventilation. There are no cleaning solutions, chemicals or other hazards accessible to children. Classrooms: Furniture and equipment age appropriate and in good repair. There are separate storage areas for children\342\200\231s belongings. Children do take naps at facility. There are mats and bedding materials for the children. Bedding materials are washed every week by staff. The facility provides breakfast, lunch and snacks. The menu is posted for review. Restrooms: Toilets and sinks are operable. There is soap, toilet paper and paper towels for sanitary use. Play yard: Climbing structures, swings, slides are safe and in good condition. There is a shaded area. Playground is free of debris and other hazards. Drinking water is readily available. There are no pools, hot tubs or other bodies of water present. CONTINUED Emergency Preparedness/Safety: Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors were tested. The 2A10BC fire extinguishers was serviced on January 2023. First Aid Kit is available and complete. Emergency Disaster Plan is posted. The facility utilizes a land line telephone. Postings: Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Notification of Parent's Rights, Earthquake Preparedness Checklist. Sign in Sheet/Class Roster : All parents use an electronic signature to sign in and sign out. The roster is current and available. Training/Record Review: All staff present on this date have criminal background clearances and are associated to the facility. Staff have current CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter certificates on file. Immunization records including influenza and or a statement declining vaccination. The facility is currently providing Incidental Medical Services to children in care. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
