On 8/14/2025 at 9:00am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tasha Alexander met with Director Michelle Mckinzie for an Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection . During the inspection, the school age children are currently attending school. There are 4 staff including director present. One portable/classroom was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates from 7:00am \342\200\223 6:00pm, Monday \342\200\223 Friday. The facility is located the elementary school grounds adjacent to the play ground. The facility has ample age appropriate materials in the classroom and was observed to be clean and in good condition. All toxins, cleaning products, medications and hazardous materials were observed to be in locked cabinets and inaccessible to children. There is at least one (1) fully stocked first-aid kit on site. There is one working carbon monoxide detector and one fully charged smoke detector located near the facility entrance. Children use the elementary school bathroom. There is a waiver posted that allows aides to escort children to the bathroom. All medications are properly maintained, documented, and stored in a locked cabinet near the director's desk. The children use the elementary school's play ground on an afternoon schedule. There are trees that provide plenty of shade for the children. LPA did not observe any harmful or unattended bodies of water in or around the facility. The kitchen area is clean, well maintained, and all hazards are in inaccessible areas. All children have access to clean drinking water in and outside of the classrooms. The facility provides afternoon snack. All food provided by the facility is properly stored and labeled. All staff have obtained a criminal record clearance, or transfer. All required postings are made visible in of the classroom next to the entrance door of the facility and behind the director's desk. The fire/disaster drill log is posted and complete with the last drill logged on 6/2/25. A review of the sign-in and out log shows children have been properly signed in/out by their parent, staff or authorized representative. LPA obtained a sample of the children\342\200\231s files, a sample of the staff files, and the facility files which were reviewed today. Director was reminded that EMSA approved Pediatric CPR & First Aid training must be completed every two (2) years. Personnel Roster must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drill must be conducted every six (6) months and documented. Director was reminded that California Law requires all facilities to report unusual incidents or injuries to children in care, to child's parents, and to the Department of Social Services using the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624). Incidents must be reported within 24 hours by phone, fax, or email. LPA informed Director that all forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov . Director was also informed that Mandated Reporter Training ("General" and "Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years by visiting www.mandatedreporterca.com . LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. THIS IS A SCHOOL AGE FACILITY- DOES NOT PROVIDE INFANT CARE. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
