What the inspector wrote

On 11/18/2025 at 12PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kareeca "Reeca" Sykes conducted an Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection . LPA met with facility Director, Jamie Czelusniak. This is a school age program licensed for 50 children which operates Monday \342\200\223 Friday from 7:00 AM \342\200\223 5:30 PM. Per the Director there are currently no school age children enrolled at the facility. At approximately 12:15 PM LPA Reeca S. began a facility tour with Director Jamie C. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. LPA did not observe any school age children in care, being that the Director stated that the facility has not had school age children enrolled at the facility for over three (3) years. LPA observed the facility to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment were inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All indoor classrooms were inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. The Director stated that the office is used as an isolation area. There are chairs in the office. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted. Snack menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. The facility provides breakfast, lunch and PM snack. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination, and LPA inspected that any contaminated food is discarded immediately. There is drinking water available in all indoor classrooms and disposable cups are provided to children . Continued on Page 2 Page 2 All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in an area inaccessible to children. Storage areas for poisons are locked. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. The licensee takes measures to keep the facility free of flies, other insects and rodents. Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. The Director states that there are no bodies of water on the premises and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during this visit. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment, swings and slides have sand and grass cushioning material to absorb a fall; climbing apparatuses are single level only. Director states there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. Sign in and out sheets, Staff Records, and Children\342\200\231s Records were not reviewed due to the facility not currently having any school age children enrolled in the program for over three (3) years. SB792 (Immunization Requirements for Staff and Employees) was discussed with the Director. AB1207 Mandated Child Abuse Reporting \342\200\223 On or before March 30, 2018 any person who works in a child care facility shall complete the training and renew the training every 2 years. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA advised the licensee to access forms, regulations and quarterly updates on the Child Care Licensing website at: www.ccld.ca.gov . At this time, the licensee is in compliance with California Title 22 Regulations. Therefore, there are no citations being issued today. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) \342\200\223 must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00. Exit interview was conducted with Director, Jamie Czelusniak, Appeal Rights and Procedures explained and provided.
