What the inspector wrote

On 7/8/2025 at 9:10AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jaleesa Jackson arrived for an Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection, and met with Director Alexandra Dutton. There were 49 preschool aged children and 10 fingerprint cleared staff members present during the inspection. The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:30PM. The facility also has an infant component #073400475. The facility has 4 classrooms for the preschool component. There are adequate play and learning materials available. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. The isolation area for sick children is the office area, away from other children in care. The center has smoke detectors, carbon monoxides, working telephone, and 2A10BC fire extinguishers throughout the building. During today's inspection there were no toxins, chemicals, or hazardous materials accessible to children. Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. LPA did not observe any bodies of water during this visit. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment, swings and slides have sand cushioning material to absorb a falls. The kitchen is clean and made inaccessible to the children in care. All chemicals are kept away from food and food preparation areas in the kitchen. The facility provides AM and PM snack to children. The snack menu is posted at the front of the school. All foods brought from the children’s home is properly labeled and stored. The children bring their own water bottles that are filled as needed throughout the day. Continued on 809-C LPA reviewed 5 children's files and 11 staff files were reviewed. There is at least one staff member with valid CPR and first aid on the premises from open to close. LPA observed all required documents are posted for public view. The facility completes disaster drills at least every six months. The last drill was conducted 6/03/2025. The facility uses the Procare app for parents and authorized representatives to sign children in and out. LPA verified that all children were properly sign in. There were no deficiencies cited on today's inspection. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 ( PIN 21-21.1- CCP ). LPA referred facility representative to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information . Continued 809-C LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and- resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee Facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Facility Representative Alexandra Dutton.
