What the inspector wrote

On 09/17/2025 at 8:45AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jamel Maiwandi met with Licensee Yolanda Evans Braggs for an Unannounced 3 year Annual Inspection . Present during the inspection were the licensee and 4 assistants who are fingerprint cleared. LPA observed 11 daycare children (3 infants and 8 preschool children). Residing in the home are the Licensee and the Licensee\342\200\231s spouse. The home was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates 6AM \342\200\223 6PM Monday-Friday. The home is a one story home that consists of three (3) bedrooms, one (1) bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room, playroom, den (converted garage), converted patio, and backyard (which has two sheds). The entrance to the day care is the front door. The inside and outside of the home were observed to be neat, clean with age-appropriate materials and toys for the children. Toxins, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be inaccessible to children during todays inspection. LPA observed the following precautions, accessible cabinets and drawers in the kitchen have safety latches and made inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home and there are two (2) chinchillas in the living room area of the home. LPA did not observe a body of water in or around home. ON LIMITS AREA: Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Office (Bedroom 2), Bathroom, Infant room (Bedroom 3), Playroom, Den (Converted Garage), Converted Patio area, and Backyard (Including Shed 2) Continues on page 2 Page 2 OFF LIMITS AREA: Bedroom 1 ISOLATION AREA: In the Den (Converted Garage) The home has a fully charged 4A80BC fire extinguisher, a working duel smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the hallway and a working telephone, and all required forms are posted. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year with the last one conducted on 04/01/2025. Licensee's CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on 02/01/2027 . The Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter and has provided proof of the required training for all people caring for children which expires on 11/13/2026. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization law. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Yolanda Evans Braggs, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
