What the inspector wrote

THIS IS AN AMENDED REPORT FROM 6/23/23. On 6/23/23, LPA Briana Plumboy met with Director Jamari Fredenburg for an unannounced random inspection. The center and playground were toured to conduct a Health and Safety inspection. There were 12 infants present during the visit. Also present for the visit was 4 staff. The center consists of 2 rooms. There is adequate storage for children's belongings. LPA Briana Plumboy did not observe any equipment that is prohibited. The indoor activity area is physically separate then the sleeping area and Director is aware when infants are napping a staff must physically be in the nap area. There is infant napping equipment available. There are no pools, spas, hot tubs, or free standing water accessible to children. The menu is posted in a visible location, and is dated at least one week in advance. All bottles, dishes, and containers of food are labeled with the child's name and current date. The changing table is in arms reach of the sink. The playground surface appears to be maintained during today's inspection. All solid waste containers have tight fitting covers on during today's inspection. All required documents are visible and posted for public review. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure. The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aide kit, carbon monoxide, working telephone, a pull down fire alarm, and fire extinguishers. The center is providing formula/ milk for infants, and their policy is families will pre-make bottles and provide them daily with bottle labels. LPA observed the interaction between the staff and children in care, and did not observe any child left without visual supervision or unattended during today's inspection. Per director there are no firearms on the premises. At least one opening/closing staff member has a current CPR/First Aid certificate. The facility is in ratio, and is in compliance with the capacity of the license today. See 809-C for continuance Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Incidents must be reported within 24 hours by phone, fax, or electronic mail. Roster of the children must be properly maintained and fire/disaster drill every six months must be documented. Director was encouraged to frequently visit our website at ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and updates. Director is reminded that ALL assistants, volunteers, and staff, that are 18 years of age or older must be fingerprint cleared and associated to this facility prior to being in the presence of children in care or an immediate civil penalty will be assessed from $100 to $3000 per person, per incident. Director was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter. All forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
