What the inspector wrote

On 12/05/2024 at 2:30PM Licensing Program Analysts (LPA’s) Kareeca “Reeca” Sykes and Christina Watts conducted an unannounced case management inspection at KinderCare Learning Center. LPA’s met with Director Jamari Fredenburg and explained the purpose of this visit. During today’s inspection there were 11 infants children in care with 4 staff in one classroom. Director stated there were 17 infant students enrolled. LPA’s were investigating an incident that occurred in the facility. During the investigation it was determined that a preschool classroom was using an infant play yard when an incident occurred and a child was injured. Per California Code of Regulation Title 22, all components are to have their own play yard and not to mix one components play yard with another. The facility is in violation of California Code of Regulation Title 22 LPA’s also discussed with Director what the needs are regarding the facilities play yards, the requirements of a waiver and to submit a waiver in a timely matter. LPA’s Kareeca Sykes informed KinderCare Learning Center that this report dated (12/05/2024) documents a Type B citation. Type B citation(s) are a potential risk(s) to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. * *SEE LIC 809-D FOR DEFICIENCIES* Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Jamari Fredenburg. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
