Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 11/02/22, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay arrived at the facility for an announced case management inspection for a change of capacity. LPAs met with Director, Shannon Regacho. Present for today's inspection were 4 children and 1 staff. The normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30am-6:00pm. LPAs conducted a full tour of the facility to conduct a health and safety inspection with Director. Only one room will now be utilized for school age children, which will be in Room 5. Fire clearance was received for 30 school age children was received from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection Department on 10/27/2022. LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. There are sufficient amount of sinks and toilets for children to utilize. There is a designated staff bathroom. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. The school age outdoor play area is fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structures and play areas. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children. The building has a fully charged fire extinguisher and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. A license for a capacity of 30 school age children is effective today 11/02/22, and can be used when the facility is ready. There are no deficiencies being cited today. A Notice of Site inspection was provided to Director, Shannon and an exit interview was conducted. See 809-C for continuance.
