What the inspector wrote

On 12/18/2025 at 2:00PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mone Flores and Kareeca "Reeca" Sykes met with Licensee Shannon Del Prado-Evans for an Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection . Present during the inspection were one (1) infants and eight (8) preschoolers in care. Residing in the home are the licensee, licensee's husband, and the licensee's adult daughter, who are all fingerprint cleared. Licensee\342\200\231s home was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates 6AM \342\200\223 6PM, Monday - Friday. The home is a two-story home that consists of four (4) bedrooms, office room, three (3) bathrooms, kitchen, family room, living room, garage, and backyard. The entrance to the day care is the front door. The inside and outside of the home were observed to be neat, clean with age-appropriate materials and toys for the children. Toxins, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be located in inaccessible areas during today\342\200\231s inspection. LPAs observed the following precautions: accessible cabinets and drawers in the kitchen have safety latches and the wood burning fireplace is blocked off and made inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated there are no firearms or pets in the home. LPAs did not observe a body of water in or around home. ON LIMITS AREA: The living room, which is the main area of the day care, the downstairs bathroom, the family room (school room), the kitchen area, and the fenced backyard (excluding the locked shed). Continued on Page 2 Page 2 OFF LIMITS AREA: Bedroom 1 (Master Bedroom) , Bedroom 2, Bedroom 3, Bedroom 4, the master bathroom, bathroom 3 and the garage. The yard is fully fenced and has an AC unit inaccessible by safety gate. ISOLATION AREA: The hallway area away from children in care. The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, a working dual smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the hallway, a working telephone, and all required forms are posted. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year with the last one conducted on 11/18/25. The licensee's CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on 01/03/2026. The Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter and has provided proof of the required training for all people caring for children which was conducted on 01/28/2024 and expires on 1/28/2026 . LPAs reviewed six children\342\200\231s files at 3:16 PM and obtained a current facility roster. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization law. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Continued on Page 3 Page 3 LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22- 02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Shannon Del Prado-Evans, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
