What the inspector wrote

On February 1, 2023, at 10:11 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Caroline Colson met with Kausha Jackson, her daughter, Brianna Crain, and assistant Thaon Jackson for an unannounced required random annual inspection. There are 8 preschool children and 2 infants present. The home was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. The facility's operating hours are Mondays - Fridays 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM . Indoor Space : The home is a two story home. The home consist of three upstairs bedrooms, two upstairs bathrooms, one downstairs bedroom, living room, dinning room, kitchen, family area, downstairs bathroom, unfenced front yard and fenced back yard. Children are taken to a nearby park or the Richmond Marina for outdoor play. The isolation areas is are the family area. There is 3A40BC fire extinguisher, a working smoke detector and a working carbon monoxide detector. She has central heating. Ms. Kausha Jackson states that there are no firearms in the home. There are toys available for the children. Her CPR and First Aid certificates are current and expire on August 30, 2023. She has a larger dog and a smaller dog. Outdoor Space : The neighborhood park or the Richmond Marina are the locations for outdoor play. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee, Kausha Jackson and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee Kausha Jackson of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Notice of Site Visit A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit Interview Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Kausha Jackson.
