On October 22, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza arrived unannounced to conduct an Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with Licensee Patricia Baker. Present during today's visit were 3 preschoolers, 3 school-age children, Licensee's two assistants, Licensee's adult son, and her adult relative. All adults in the home are fingerprint cleared. LPA toured the home for a Health and Safety check. Hours of operation are 5am-6:30pm, Monday - Friday. The home is a two-story single family house consisting of 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area, family room (which has sliding doors leading to the backyard), a den, and a backyard (which has 4 storage sheds and a chicken coop with 7 chickens). On Limit Areas - living room, family room, den, bathroom in the hallway on the 1st floor, and concrete portion of the backyard. Off Limit Areas - All bedrooms, kitchen, entire 2nd floor of the house, all bathrooms except for the one in the hallway on the 1st floor, and the grassy areas of the backyard. All off limit areas will remain off limits by gates, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. Isolation Area is in the living room. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water during today's inspection. All hazardous materials and toxins are kept out of reach from the children. The inside of the home is observed to be neat and clean with ample age-appropriate materials for the children. The home has one fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher in the dining area. There is a working combined smoke and carbon monoxide detector located in the hallway next to the bathroom. Per Licensee there are no guns in the home. The last disaster drill was conducted on September 3, 2025. The facility is operating within its licensed capacity and is in ratio. The Licensee stated that she provides food for the children. The licensee\342\200\231s Pediatric CPR & First Aid is current and expires on 3/2027. The Licensee also has a current Mandated Reporter certificate which expires on 3/28/26. Both Assistants present during todays visit have a current CPR certificate and Mandated Reporter certificate. LPA reviewed 4 children files, the licensee's file, and both Assistant's files. Licensee was reminded that California law requires Licensees to report unusual incidents and/or injuries to children in care, to the child's parents, and to the Department within 24 hours by phone. Within seven (7) days from the incident and Licensee must submit the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624B) to the Department. Licensee was reminded that any structural changes or additions to the home must be reported to Community Care Licensing. Children\342\200\231s Roster must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drills must be conducted every six (6) months and documented. Licensee was reminded that EMSA approved Pediatric CPR & First Aid training must be completed every two (2) years. Licensee was also informed that Mandated Reporter Training ("Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every two (2) years by visiting https://mandatedreporterca.com/ . LPA informed Licensee that all forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov . The Licensee currently does not provide Incidental Medical Services. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
