What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Paul Petersen conducted an unannounced random annual site inspection for this facility at 12:15 PM. LPA met with facility director, Christine Rottger, who was present along with one additional teaching staff (qualified teacher) and four persons in care. This facility serves individuals age seven to 22 years. The facility is within ratio and capacity and children are being supervised. All adults present are background cleared. This program is the school age component of a combination facility with an infant program also on the premises. The school age program and infant program operate out of distinctly separate rooms and children from the school age and infant program are not commingling. All rooms licensed for use by this program were toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility has central smoke/fire alarm system and working carbon monoxide detector. There are fully charged fire extinguishers present in each classroom. Per facility director, the most recent fire inspection for this facility was within the past six months. Per facility director, there are no firearms present or stored on the premises. Furniture and equipment are age appropriate and free of broken/sharp pieces. Surfaces including floors, counter tops and desk tops are free of toxins. Toilets and faucets are age appropriate and in good repair. There are no toxins/hazardous items observed to be accessible to children in care. Required postings are present including three waivers. The program is currently operating from 9:00am to 1:30pm, Mon-Fri. Individuals bring their own meals/snacks and the facility has a supply of food items as backup. Kitchen/food prep areas appear clean and free of pests. There is drinking water available indoors and outdoors via working water fountains. There are multiple pieces of outdoor exercise equipment that appear free of broken/sharp pieces or hazardous conditions. There are no pools or other accessible bodies of water are present. Children's files were reviewed for emergency identification forms and admissions agreements. Personnel records were reviewed for health screening forms, immunization records, mandatory reporter training certification, and teacher qualification documents. Teaching staff present has current CPR/1st Aid certification. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services-IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children's, personnel, and administrative records.
