What the inspector wrote

On 06/11/2025 at 1:50 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Watts and Kareeca "Reeca" Sykes conducted a Case Management Inspection at Cornerstone Christian Preschool. LPAs met with Pre-K teacher, Sara Jeffus and explained the purpose of this visit. Director, Terri Bryson was not present during today's inspection. During today's inspection, there were 22 preschool children in care with 3 teachers in 4 classrooms. Pre-K Teacher stated there are 51 preschool children enrolled. All staff caring and supervising children have Criminal Record Clearance. LPA's are following up on an self reported Unusual Incident. On 05/29/2025, S1 arrived to work and placed their items inside the facility. S1 stated they went outside and started sweeping. S1 stated C2 was hanging off the basketball hoop. S1 stated they were telling C2 to get off the hoop when C3 said S1's name. S1 stated they said hey what's up. S1 stated C3 said to S1," The littles (C1) around the corner" S1 stated they made sure C2 said was off the hoop and ran to the corner. S1 stated they called for C1 to come back and C1 came back toward S1. S1 stated C1 ran toward preschool classroom door. S1 stated the Director was present on the playground and talking to C3's parent. C1 was out of staff sight for about less than 1 minute. Per California code of Regulations, Title 22 stated that children are to be supervised at all times. The facility is in violation of California code of regulations, Title 22. LPA Christina Watts informed Pre-K Teacher, Sara Jeffus that this report dated 06/11/2025 documents a Type B citation. Type B citation(s) are a potential risk(s) to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Pre-K Teacher, Sara Jeffus. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
