What the inspector wrote

On 10/28/2025 at 9:40 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Watts conducted an Case Management Inspection at Cornerstone Christian Preschool. LPA met with Director, Terri Bryson and explained the purpose of today's inspection. During today's inspection, there were 39 preschool children with 7 staff in four classrooms. Director stated there are 54 preschool children enrolled. All staff supervising and caring for children have Criminal Record Clearance. LPA is following up on an self reported Unusual Incident Report submitted to licensing on 09/04/2025. LPA toured the facility, observed classrooms, conducted interview and obtained relevant documents. Interview stated that initially staff had given C1 a Starburst candy for being a good helper. Interview stated while outside, C1 was crying that their stomach hurt. Interview stated C1 was picked up by their parent as C1 did not feel good. Interview stated that staff told the Director that they had found a miniature snicker wrapper and that C1 was given the miniature snicker by staff to eat. Director stated they informed staff that C1 has a peanut allergy. Interview and facility observation shows that there is an allergy list in every classroom. California code of regulation, title 22 stated facility cannot provide allergen to child as it is a health and safety risk. The facility is out of compliance with California code of Regulation, Title 22. LPA Christina Watts informed Director, Terri Bryson that this report dated 10/28/2025 documents a Type B citation. Type B citation(s) are a potential risk(s) to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. *SEE LIC 809-D FOR DEFICIENCIES* Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Terri Bryson. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
