What the inspector wrote

On June 15, 2023 at 9:50 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Caroline Colson met with Irma Flores for an unannounced required random annual inspection. There are 3 preschool children, 1 infant and 1 school age child present. The home was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Some required forms were given to Licensee. The facility's operating hours are Mondays - Fridays 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM . Indoor Space : The home is a one story home. The home consist of one master bedroom with master bathroom, one bedroom, main bathroom, living room, dinning room, kitchen, fenced front yard, laundry room, closet, large storage room and converted garage. There is 3A40BC fire extinguisher, a working smoke detector and a working carbon monoxide detector. There are 10 floor registers. Ms. Irma Flores states that there are no firearms in the home. There are toys available for the children. Her CPR and First Aid certificates are current and expire on June 20, 2023. First Aid Kit is available and complete. There are no pets. Outdoor Space : The fenced front yard is the is outdoor play area. Off Limit Areas : There is one bedroom, laundry room and large storage room which are inaccessible to children. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee will place locks on her teenage son's bedroom and laundry room. Licensee will remove any debris from the fenced front yard and send pictures of these corrections. Please See LIC 809 C for Additional Information Family Child Care Homes Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee, Irma Flores and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee Irma Flores of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Notice of Site Visit A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Please See LIC 809 D for deficiencies
