What the inspector wrote
On 04/28/2026 at 12:40 PM, Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA's) Kareeca "Reeca" Sykes and Mone' Flores met with Licensee, Marianna Gurevich for an
Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection
. Present during the inspection was the licensee. Living in the home is the Licensee, the licensee's spouse, and adult son. LPA's observed seven (7) children in care ( 1 school age, 3 preschool child, and 3 infants). Licensee stated there are currently 14 children enrolled in the facility. Licensee’s home was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates from 7AM – 5:30PM, Monday - Friday.
The home is a tri-level home that consists of four bedrooms, three bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, family room (main daycare area located on the lower level on the home), laundry room, garage, and backyard. The entrance to the day care is the front door. The inside and outside of the home were observed to be neat, clean with age-appropriate materials and toys for the children. Toxins, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be located in inaccessible areas during today’s inspection. LPA's observed the following precautions: accessible cabinets and drawers in the kitchen have safety latches and child safety gates. During the visit LPA's observed the gas fireplace in the living room area, which is blocked off and made inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated there is two pet dogs (which LPA's observed are both small) in the home, and Licensee confirmed there are no firearms in the home. LPA's did not observe a body of water in or around home.
ON LIMITS AREA:
Living room (Only to enter and exit the facility), Dining room, Family room (Main Daycare area), Kitchen, Bathroom 3 (located in the lower level of the home, across from bedroom 4), Bedroom 4, and the Backyard (not including the right side of the backyard which is made inaccessible by safety gates)

OFF LIMITS AREA:
Living room (unless children are entering and exiting the home), The entire upstairs (including Bedroom 1; Master bedroom/Bathroom 1 Master Bathroom, Bedroom 2 , Bedroom 3, Bathroom 2) , The laundry room, garage, and the right side of the backyard.
ISOLATION AREA:
In Bedroom 4 away from other children in care.
OUTSIDE PLAY AREA:
The fully fenced backyard which LPA's observed to be safe for the children in care.
The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the family room, a working telephone, and all required forms are posted. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year with the last one conducted on
11/07/25.
Licensee's
CPR and First Aid certificate
is current and expires on
09/11/26.
Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a
mandated reporter
and have provided proof of the required training for all people caring for children which was conducted on
03/31/24 and expires on 03/31/26
. LPA's reviewed children’s files and obtained a current facility roster. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization law.
Licensee stated that the facility does not provide transportation for children and the licensee understand that children cannot be left alone, unattended in parked vehicles.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at
https://www.cpsc.gov/
and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22- 02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the Licensee, Marianna Gurevichconfirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
LPA's had an extensive conversation with licensee of the importance of a staff files, and has provided the licensee with all forms/documents needed to be maintained in all staff files.
There were no deficiencies cited during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Marianna Guervich
