What the inspector wrote

On May 17, 2023 at 1:45 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nyeesha Blount conducted an unannounced Unusual/Incident Report follow up. LPA met with Master Teacher Jose Chavez as well as spoke to Site Supervisor LaTonya Saucer via telephone. Jose stated he was only advised of the incident from site supervisor of what occurred and also stating teacher Marta Vega left early that day and never returned to the facility. Site Supervisor LaTonya Saucer stated she was informed from child's parent that the child stated the teacher pulled her arm. Parent advised she didn't want to make a big deal of the situation and was not complaining just wanted to bring to attention. Site Supervisor stated this particular child is very sensitive to anything, the children were being directed to wash there hands and the child was not paying attention. The Teacher Marta Vega was a substitute teacher working at the facility, During this time that particular class had contracted Covid as well as (2) teachers and site supervisor, So the enrollment at the facility at this time was very low so her services were no longer needed at this time. The child did not sustain any injuries returning to school the next day. Based on prior knowledge the teachers in the classroom stated they did not see anything. Based on Video footage that was reviewed by Director and Site Supervisor it did not reflect the teacher pulling the child's arm, it reflects teacher grabbing the child's hand. LPA spoke with Director Jesse Black via telephone, She advised she had a conversation with Teacher Marta which was translated in Spanish for her understanding, It was explained what was brought to their attention from the parent, Marta stated that she didn't do anything wrong. Director advised that Teacher Marta was never left alone with the children, Advising they just wanted too be overcautious after this incident was reported placing Marta on call. LPA was unable to speak with Marta due to no longer working at the facility.
