On 12/22/2025 at 3:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Watts conducted an Case Management Inspection at YMCA Childcare - Strandwood. This facility is located on Strandwood Elementary School. LPA met with Site Director, Amanda Valadez and explained the purpose of today's inspection. During today's inspection, there were 46 school age children with 12 staff in four classrooms. Director stated there are 125 school age children enrolled. LPA is following up on a Plan of Correction that was given to the facility on 12/17/2025 for a Type A violation - Lack of Supervision. On 12/18/2025, Regional Childcare Director, Vicki Coster submitted a written plan of correction to licensing for Type A citation via email. During today's visit, LPA was able to verify that parent/authorized representatives received and signed LIC 9224 - Acknowledgement of Licensing Report. DEFICIENCY FOR TYPE A CITATION WILL BE CLEARED AS 12/22/2025. LPA will provide clearance letter during today's visit. LPA Watts reminded the Site Director to provide a copy of licensing report dated 12/17/2025 that documents a Type A citation(s) to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. During today's inspection, there were no violations observed. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Director, Amanda Valadez. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
