What the inspector wrote

On August 12, 2025 at 8:45 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Nyeesha Blount conducted an unannounced case management \342\200\223 licensee initiated inspection for Chipres, Maria Lourdes small family child care home. The licensee is currently licensed for capacity of 8 and requesting for increase of capacity for 12. LPA met with the licensee who guided the analyst on a tour of the facility. During today's inspection, there were 3 children in care (1) infant and (2) preschool aged children) and (5) children enrolled. Licensee and all adults in the home have Criminal Record Clearance. Facility hours of operations are Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Pediatric CPR/First Aid certificate are current and will expire on 2/2027, and Mandated Reporter certificate, which expires on July 24, 2027. The fire clearance for capacity of (14) children request was approved on 08/05/2025 by inspector Brian Pizzimenti, of Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. Isolation of sick children will be in at the table in the day care room. This is a Two story home, which consists of (3) bedrooms, (2) bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room, lower level day care room, fenced backyard and converted garage. The home is equipped with a 1A40BC, 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke detector, and working carbon monoxide detector. The home is neat and clean and has central heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are sufficient age appropriate furnishings, toys, books and learning materials available. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. All hazardous materials and toxins are stored away inaccessible to children in care at the time of the inspection. Areas of on limits: will be Day care room, (1) bathroom, fenced backyard, and converted garage. Areas off limits: include: The entire upstairs of the home secured with latches and gates made inaccessible to the children in care . LIC 809-C continued to PAGE 2 Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Licensee was reminded about importance to stay in compliance with mandated reporter training and maintenance of sleep logs for all infants in care . Licensee understands that 100% supervision is required at all times. There are no deficiencies cited today. Licensed effective 08/12/2025 for Capacity Increase. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted Appeal Rights and Notice of Site Visit given, report reviewed with Licensee, Chipres, Maria Lourdes.
